The Edna W. Lawrence Nature Lab at RISD, Fleet Library at RISD, and
Synergetics Collaborative are pleased to announce the 6th Biennial Design
Science Symposium: Inclusive Narratives from Nature, an event exploring
multiple approaches to sustainable/nature-inspired making, community
development, and other work that facilities a holistic relationship with
nature and natural systems.

This upcoming event will showcase how, through multiple cultural lenses,
the design science framework can address the complex, real world problems
we face today. It aims to incorporate various cultural perspectives,
knowledge systems, ways of relating to nature and creative problem

On Sunday from 2-5 PM, there will be an "Attendee Design Science Forum:
Open Discussion and Share 'n' Tell".

We hope to accommodate about 60 share-n-tell presenters. Pre-registration
is required. A sign up link will be emailed to all registrants in
September. You can also register for share-n-tell at the registration
desk. Please bring items to share-n-tell on Sunday 22 September at 1:30
PM to the ProvWash auditorium for setup. For computer sharing, bring a
battery powered device as there will be almost no power available. We
ask that share-n-tells be limited to less than 8 cubic feet of space. A
few larger displays may be possible, please indicate if you expect to
need more space on the registration form.

For those who want to bring work to share please note the following:
 * There is no storage available for work
 * RISD is not liable for lost or broken work

Other News:

‘Fuller in Krakow’ – an event hosted by theatre Minatura in
Krakow, Poland on 16–18 September 2019. Includes the conference:
"Inside Out / Outside In: Building Bridges between the Arts, Humanities
and Technology". All papers will be delivered and published in English.
In addition, a theatrical performance of "R. Buckminster Fuller: the
History (and Mystery) of the Universe", a monodrama by D.W. Jacobs,
will be featured.
